Wengen sits at an altitude of 1,284 metres on a sunny mountain shelf overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley.  The area is dominated by the majestic peaks of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau (the rocks of Rocks Bar).  It does not get more beautiful than this – have a look at our photographs if you do not believe us.

Wengen can be reached by railway (or on foot) from the valley village of Lauterbrunnen.  The journey time by train is fifteen minutes.  There is not a road to Wengen, although that has not stopped various satellite navigation systems sending unsuspecting tourists and their cars onto the steep and rocky footpath to the village.
If you arrive in the area by car, park in Lauterbrunnen.  You know it makes sense!  

Better still, come by train and sit back and enjoy the view.  Berne is 90 minutes away, with Zurich and Geneva just either side of the three hour mark.

When in Wengen, make a bee line to Rocks Bar.  We are to be found on Dorfstrasse, the main street, a full 30 seconds from the station.  We are in the arcade between Photofritz and the BEKB bank.  Look for the Rocks Bar sign!
